Clark County dust rules and fencing
Under Section 94 of the Clark County Air Quality Regulations, you need a Dust Control Operating Permit from the Department of Environment and Sustainability for any of these:
- construction activities that disturb 0.25 acres or more of soil
- mechanized trenching of 100 feet or more
- mechanical demolition of a structure of 1,000 square feet or more
- temporary commercial activities covering 0.25 acres or more
One of the listed best management practices is to keep vehicle traffic and soil disturbance out of areas not being developed right away, using fencing, barriers and/or barricades. The required dust control signs may also be attached to a fence. Panels with fence covers can be part of your plan; the Division of Air Quality decides what satisfies your permit.
Right-of-way and traffic control
Most of the Strip, plus Paradise, Spring Valley and Enterprise, lies in unincorporated Clark County. There, Clark County Public Works issues encroachment permits for work in the public right-of-way, and a traffic control plan must be approved first. Inside the City of Las Vegas, the conditions for temporary traffic control plans require contractors to keep an ADA-accessible pedestrian route in and around the work zone at all times. Access for residents, businesses and emergency vehicles must stay open, and devices must be removed within 24 hours of completion or inactivity. Henderson and North Las Vegas issue their own permits; ask before fencing any sidewalk.
What the valley is building and hosting
Stadiums and resort-corridor projects
The Athletics are building a ballpark with a retractable roof on the former Tropicana site at Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue, planned to open for the 2028 season. Allegiant Stadium, home of the Raiders, hosts NFL and UNLV football, bowl games and concerts. Long Strip-corridor builds call for ST812 8' anti-climb panels, barbed wire extensions and a vehicle gate conversion kit for truck access.
F1 and festival crowds
The Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix is scheduled for November 19 to 21, 2026, on a street circuit that uses Las Vegas Boulevard, Koval Lane and Harmon Avenue. EDC Las Vegas at Las Vegas Motor Speedway has announced two May weekends for 2027. Events like these use bar barriers and fixed-leg barriers, along with ST612 panels for perimeters.
Spring and fall wind
According to the National Weather Service, strong winds in the Las Vegas Valley are most common in spring and again in fall. They usually come from the southwest or through from the northwest, and wind over 50 mph brings blowing dust and sand. Use Windbreaker Elite stabilizers, Z-weights and HD Griplock couplers. On caliche or bare ground, earth anchors add holding power.

We sell only. For a single weekend event, renting may be simpler. For event companies with a full calendar, or contractors on multi-year builds, owning usually pays off. New customers pay by credit card or prepayment. Public agencies can also use a government purchase card or an agency purchase order, and Net 30 terms are reserved for established customers.
