Kansas City spent the summer of 2026 as a World Cup host, and its next big build is already on the drawing board across the state line. Contractors and event teams here work across two states and two sets of permit offices. Bauzaunwelt, the official ZND General Distributor in the USA, sells ZND temporary fence panels, gates and accessories to buyers on both the Missouri and Kansas sides of the metro. Every order ships from the ZND plant in Statesville, North Carolina.
Kansas City rules for fence in the right-of-way
Under Chapter 64 of the Kansas City, Missouri Code of Ordinances, no street, sidewalk or other city-maintained right-of-way may be closed to traffic, except in an emergency, without a traffic control permit from the Director of Public Works. The Director can close, or permit the closing of, a street or sidewalk when construction, maintenance or public safety requires it. KCMO tracks these permits through its Compass KC system. If your fence line pushes onto a sidewalk in the Crossroads or a curb lane in the West Bottoms, check with KCMO Public Works first. The same chapter also sets fees for placing a construction trailer or dumpster in the right-of-way.
On the Kansas side, Kansas City, Kansas and Wyandotte County share one Unified Government, which issues building and right-of-way permits for work there. Johnson County suburbs such as Overland Park and Olathe run their own permit offices. Our panels meet common construction-site requirements, but check with the city where the fence will stand for the exact rules.
Stadiums, crowds and storm season
World Cup legacy and a new stadium in Kansas
Kansas City hosted six FIFA World Cup matches at Arrowhead Stadium in June and July 2026, drawing 413,169 fans, and ran the FIFA Fan Festival on the south lawn of the National WWI Museum and Memorial. Organizers who fenced fan zones, parking and security screening for the tournament know how many panels and barriers a single match day uses. For the next big crowd, ST612 panels, heavy-duty bar barriers and pedestrian gates cover perimeters, queues and entry points.
The bigger construction story is the Chiefs' planned $3 billion domed stadium in Wyandotte County, targeted to open for the 2031 NFL season, with a new team headquarters and training facility in Olathe. Jobs that long favor owned fence: ST812 8'x12' anti-climb panels, a double sliding gate kit for trucks, and a double swing vehicle gate conversion kit where the site layout suits it.
Wind across the plains
Spring thunderstorms in the Kansas City area can bring strong gusts, and a screened fence line catches every one of them. Start with tube stands and HD Griplock couplers, add Windbreaker Elite stabilizers on exposed runs, and load them with Z-weights. If you want privacy or dust control with the green fence cover, mention it on your quote so the bracing can be sized for it.

Why buy instead of rent?
Bauzaunwelt sells fence; we do not run a rental fleet. If you need a fence for a single weekend, renting may be simpler. If you fence stadium events every season, or you are bidding multi-year work around the new stadium district, owning panels means no monthly rental invoice and no waiting on a rental yard's stock. New customers pay by credit card or prepayment. Public agencies can also use a government purchase card or an agency purchase order, and Net 30 terms are reserved for established customers. Bauzaunwelt is registered in SAM.gov (CAGE 21BQ4).
