ZND ST series anti-climb panel

From the tower cranes over Biscayne Boulevard to the grandstands that go up each spring in Miami Gardens, Miami puts a lot of temporary fence on the ground. Bauzaunwelt is the official ZND General Distributor in the USA, and we sell (not rent) anti-climb temporary fence panels, stands, gates and accessories to Miami contractors, event producers and property owners. Here is what to know about local rules, hurricane season and freight.

Miami rules for construction fencing

Miami-Dade County sits in the Florida Building Code's High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ), a designation shared only with Broward County. That matters less for the fence itself than for how you run the site: Miami-Dade's construction-site guidance says that when the National Weather Service issues a tropical storm or hurricane warning, job sites must be secured under Section 8-16 of the County Code, removing or fastening down items such as construction shacks, stored materials, temporary toilets, trash and forms. A hurricane preparedness plan must be kept on site for inspection.

If your fence line touches the public way, a separate permit is usually needed. The City of Miami's Department of Resilience and Public Works requires a closure permit any time you close or obstruct part of the right-of-way, whether sidewalk, swale, parking lane or traffic lane, and contractors must register in the city's iPW system before applying. Work on County-owned or County-maintained roads, even inside a municipality, is permitted through Miami-Dade's Department of Transportation and Public Works. Our panels meet common construction-site requirements, but check with the City of Miami, Miami-Dade DTPW or your municipality's permit office for your exact site.

Supertalls and highway megaprojects

The 100-story Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences at 300 Biscayne Boulevard was building past level 85 in late summer 2026, and FDOT's I-395 Signature Bridge project, with its six-arch structure over Biscayne Boulevard, is targeted for completion in 2029. For long-duration sites we suggest the taller ST812 8'x12' anti-climb panel, joined with HD Griplock couplers.

Events that need crowd control

The Formula 1 race on the Hard Rock Stadium campus in Miami Gardens (running as the Formula 1 Hard Rock Miami Grand Prix from April 30 to May 2, 2027) and Art Basel Miami Beach at the Miami Beach Convention Center (December 4 to 6, 2026) are two of the region's biggest annual builds. For queue lines and pedestrian routing, look at our heavy-duty bar barriers and fixed-leg barriers; for secure perimeters, the ST612 6'x12' panel with a pedestrian gate.

Wind and screens

South Florida's sea breeze and summer squalls load up a fence quickly, especially once a privacy screen is attached. Brace screened runs with the Windbreaker Standard stabilizer or Windbreaker Elite, and ballast them with Z-weights.

Buying vs. renting temporary fence in Miami

We only sell. Rental suits a single short job. For back-to-back jobs across Dade and Broward, year-long sites or recurring events, owning means you control stock, timing and condition. New customers pay by credit card or prepayment. Public agencies can also use a government purchase card or an agency purchase order, and Net 30 terms are reserved for established customers. Bauzaunwelt is registered in SAM.gov (CAGE 21BQ4).

Miami temporary fence FAQ

Do I need a permit to put construction fence on a Miami sidewalk?

Usually yes. The City of Miami requires a right-of-way closure permit whenever you close or obstruct a sidewalk, swale, parking lane or traffic lane, and contractors must register in the iPW system first. County-maintained roads are permitted through Miami-Dade DTPW. Check with the permit office that controls your street.

What happens to my fence when a hurricane warning is issued?

Miami-Dade requires job sites to be secured under Section 8-16 of the County Code once the National Weather Service issues a tropical storm or hurricane warning, and a hurricane preparedness plan must be on site. Plan in advance how fence panels, screens and loose stands will be fastened down or removed.

How much is freight to Miami and where does it ship from?

Freight to Miami starts at $689 for a 12-panel order (shown live at checkout; exact rate by ZIP on request). Orders ship by LTL truck from the ZND plant in Statesville, North Carolina, and you need a forklift or loading dock to receive them.

Which panels hold up best in South Florida wind?

Any ZND panel needs proper bracing in open, exposed areas. Add Windbreaker stabilizers and Z-weights, especially where a privacy screen is attached, because screens catch far more wind than bare mesh.

Should I buy or rent construction fence in Miami?

We sell only. Renting can suit one short job; buying tends to pay off for contractors with repeat projects, long-duration sites or recurring events, because you own the panels and decide when they go up.
